About Me

Hello, I’m Olufunke Kolapo, I’m a teacher, writer, and emotional wellness guide, passionate about helping people live with intention, courage, and calm.
This blog has been growing with me since 2012. It began with poetry and personal stories, evolved into social media insights and small business storytelling, and ultimately returned to what matters most to me: using words to teach, heal, and transform.

What I do

I write for people who are trying, quietly and bravely, to live again after loss, fear, or change. For those who are figuring things out in their own time. My words are for anyone who needs reminders that growth doesn’t have to be loud, healing isn’t always linear, and you don’t have to rush to be okay.

Here, I bring together years of experience as an educator, a storyteller, and someone who has personally walked through anxiety, creative self-doubt, and found meaningful ways to grow through them.

On this platform, you’ll find:

  • Thoughtful stories that connect and inspire
  • Simple tools to manage anxiety and quiet the noise of overthinking
  • Journals, writing prompts, and emotional wellness resources
  • Poetry analysis and educational content for teachers, students, and literature lovers
  • Honest reflections on life, creativity, faith, and healing

Whether you’re here for emotional insight, mental clarity, or just a moment to exhale, you’re in the right place.

Mission and Core Values

I believe the right words, at the right moment, can plant seeds that grow into lasting change. Whether I’m in a classroom or writing to you here, I approach both with a deep respect for precision, structure, and purpose.

That’s why I also create learning materials like poetry worksheets, writing prompts, and literary guides. To me, education and emotional wellness go hand in hand, as both are essential for a meaningful life.

My Story In Short

In 2012, I had a life-changing automobile accident that left me with permanent injuries, along with anxiety and panic attacks. Everyday tasks suddenly felt overwhelming. At first, I didn’t even know what I was dealing with, and it’s hard to treat what you can’t name.

When I finally figured it out, nothing seemed to work. The pain from the accident lingered, making it nearly impossible to forget or move on. So, I was stuck on that day when everything changed for me, reliving it over and over again. All my efforts to move on, reconnect the past with the present were futile. I couldn’t stay in the present, and the past was too horrifying to look back to, making the future a terrifying blur.

Grief became a loop. Fear became a habit. And I learned how to smile and function without actually feeling anything at all.

But eventually, something shifted. Not overnight. Not magically. Slowly. Quietly. Through faith, writing, stillness, and the hard work of choosing not to shut down.

I started to breathe again. To listen to my thoughts. That’s when I realised the feelings, the effects of the trauma, are not going to go away. They will always be there, this is my new life, this is my reality.

Then, I stopped trying to “move on” and started praying for the strength to be stronger than the fear. I began exercising, eating healthy, practising mindful breathing, and living with intention.

Little by little, things shifted. I started writing again. I started showing up, even on the hard days.

Healing hasn’t been a straight line. It’s been a slow, tough, but honest process of showing up for myself, one choice at a time, one step at a time, one day at a time.

That’s part of why I created this blog, not because I have it all figured out, but because I know what it feels like to unravel. And I also know what it feels like to begin again; gently, imperfectly, but with a little more courage each time.

And that’s what this space is about: progress, not perfection.
